Our wine-growing estate was founded in 1843 and flourished for the first time under Karl Schaefer, after whom the estate was later named. Today, it is run by Dr. Job and Nana von Nell – the sixth generation of the family – with the support of a young team of staff who are dedicated to maintaining the estate’s traditions. Right from our beginnings, we have been one of the top Riesling-producers. We have been members of the “Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates” (VDP) for over one hundred years and are dedicated to ecological viticulture.
Everyone in our team helps to enrich the transformation process that turns precious grapes into something to savour that reflects the uniqueness of our wine-producing areas in a manner you can taste!
